Back at Koonammavu……..

December 14th, 2009 Posted in Blog

Yesterday, was a busy day from me. Took out my car from home at 11 am picked up my +2 class mate Shibin who is  nearby and left to meet our old +2 buddies. Thankfully I didn’t have to take the burden of driving the car all alone, as my pal did it for me. Back to Koonammavu to meet our beloved +2 mates after long gap of about 8 years……

Destination One, was Shinob’s house, our +2 friend and my degree class mate, who had been in touch with us regularly even after school and college days. Even, after informing him about our visits that rascal had gone out for some personal business of his, and as usual saying that he will be back shortly which means he is not going to be back in about 2-3 hours. More about this guy Shinob, he had an affair which had started from our +2 days, and is the only one relation which ended up in a knot, although with the permission of her family and not his. He had registered her(Jisha) without the consent of his family, although they are aware of the incident, now she is staying at her house and he at his house. Once we reached his house, we had to be kind of dumb, just because of this situation at his home :help_tb:, we had to just say yes and no to the questions fired by his family members. Somehow made it out off his house, and we were relieved, went to his wife house, another class mate of us, were we had to still wait another 2-3 hours for this guy. During which she had been killing us displaying us a music album created by Subin.. :wallbash_tb: She was kind of thrilled at his achievements, although we knowing his attitude and personality were not at all fine with it. And finally Shinob arrived and we escaped out of there.

Destination Two, picking Shinob we left to Ajeesh’s house who had been just back from Sharjah.. He had to make it back soon as his mother was ill, and will be flying back on 8th January. Arriving at his house, since he was not there, his father gave us his local mobile number and we made him come back from wherever he was.. Nice guy, he indeed made it fast back home.. At his house, his father had a usual chat that we normally does have once a person comes home, and I didn’t feel anything wrong in that. While it was back in our car, that Shinob mentioned how great was Ajeesh’s fathers talking habits :jittery_tb: one more added to the kollayali lists :grin1_ee:

Destination Three. Kuthira’s home, Kuthira was pet name put by us to our classmate Renju.. We had to go there just because of our pal Shibins request he had been in touch with her over mobile, though he says he is not with an affair with her, who knows :wink_ee: having to keep in touch after leaving +2 for about 7-8 years through phone does sound a bit fishy :grin1_ee: Hmmm.. what to say, she is still bouncing back on us like it used to be at school days no change at all… however need to say she had become much pretty than she was :wink_ee: There she began to kill us everybody, needless to say we had to flee from there :cheese1_ee: She’s now a teacher wonder how does the students at her class suffer her :jittery_tb:

Destination Four, Boney while on our way to his home.. we found him playin football with some local kids there.. Upon seeing us just imagine what happened there.. although in the middle of play, he quit it sayin he’s goin home…… just like the way he scoots from the middle to play at our school days no change in that habit though :grin1_ee: He’s now a programmer at a software firm Ernakulam

Destination Five, our beloved class rep Riyant ant antony…… Looks like the same as old days this guy had become a teacher and that at plus two…. He is currently doing phd… gud we will have a doctor from our batch… Gud luck pal…. :bye_tb: So along with our duply chemist aka scientist Shibin we are going to have a doctor too..

Destination Six, this is where we actually intended to go to meet Kamsan as he had had an accident previously and was out of plasters recently. Unfortunately he just left to his tharavadu which is nearby and we were not able to meet him, Shinob warned of Naveen’s father who is yet another bigger kollayali who is on the way to kamsan’s tharavadu so we had to drop that plan.. and return home,,

At last made it back home by 9pm got some scolding from my parents for missing out Sunday mass, and hanging around late… However, meeting old pals was really refreshing and they too know it, so firings didn’t last long…

Christmas days ahead.. planning to take a week leave from office, and hoping to have a second round trip again back to Koonammavu…

Welcome to our world!

Tall Chick!!!

December 5th, 2009 Posted in Blog

A man walks into a restaurant with a full-grown ostrich behind him. The waitress asks them for their orders. The man says, “A hamburger, fries and a coke,” and turns to the ostrich, “What’s yours?”

“I’ll have the same,” says the ostrich.

A short time later the waitress returns with the order. “That will be $9.40 please,” and the man reaches into his pocket and pulls out the exact change for payment.

The next day, the man and the ostrich come again and the man says, “A hamburger, fries, and a coke.”

The ostrich says, “I’ll have the same.” Again the man reaches into his pocket and pays with exact change.

This becomes routine until, the two enter again. “The usual?” asks the waitress.

“No, this is Friday night, so I will have a steak, baked potato, and salad,” says the man.

“Same,” says the ostrich.

Shortly the waitress brings the order and says, “That will be $32.62.” Once again the man pulls the exact change out of his pocket and places it on the table.

The waitress cannot hold back her curiosity any longer. “Excuse me, sir. How do you manage to always come up with the exact change out of your pocket every time?”

“Well,” says the man, “Several years ago I was cleaning the attic and found an old lamp. When I rubbed it, a Genie appeared and offered me two wishes. My first wish was that if I ever had to pay for anything, I would just put my hand in my pocket and the right amount of money would always be there.”

“That’s brilliant!” says the waitress. “Most people would wish for a million dollars or something, but you’ll always be as rich as you want for as long as you live!”

“That’s right. Whether it’s a gallon of milk or a Rolls Royce, the exact money is always there,” says the man.

The waitress asks, “But, sir, what’s with the ostrich?”

The man sighs, pauses, and answers, “My second wish was for a tall chick with a big butt and long legs who agrees with everything I say.”

Police Jeeps

December 5th, 2009 Posted in Blog

I do not know what makes people scared about Police, perhaps its their villainous looks, or attitude towards people. Anyway this scariness is also shown towards their vehicle too, wonder if their jeep to bears the same attitude.

This event occurred today as I left my office to home, just as I passed the junction near our office, a Police Jeep overtook my bike. Since, the traffic was high, I decided to tail the Police Jeep, of which the driver (there was only the drive on it) I assume was very very impatient, he was banging on the horn almost all the time. Since, being this a Police Jeep, and the repeated banging of horn, made other vehicles give way for it. To my luck it was to the outer limits of city, from where I need to go. Thankful to impatient driver of Police jeep, he made his way as soon as possible through the busy city roads banging horn repeatedly with me tailing him all the time to get void of traffic. Thanks to him, I made it quickly to home than other days, wish if he would come everyday so that I can make it home early.

Meeting old buddies….

December 5th, 2009 Posted in Blog

It is nice to meet old buddies once you had left out of college, it is a refreshing experience one which pulls back you to the past.

Recently, I had an opportunity to attend a marriage of my friend’s brother. Almost all of the our old gang from mangalassery (house name kept by us, for our rented house during college days) were present. Once all of us met together, it was kind of we all lost our sense of surrounding all were very excited, cheerful and I wondered none had left our old habits. It was wonderful experience for the 2 days that came along as we had stayed together after around 3 years after college.

Coming back, today I met one of my classmate Bhavya, on my way to office from an ATM. Though she invited most of us personally for her marriage, I couldn’t make it. It came to me as a surprise to find her here, as I never expected her to be in Ernakulam and that too residing close to our office area. Anyway, it was all nice, I could after all make it to meet her husband even though I missed their marriage. They were out for visiting a temple near by, which made it possible for us to meet. I hope everyone on our batch is fine and will at some point of time be able to meet everyone else.

Kernel Recompile

December 5th, 2009 Posted in Blog

At last I too did it, thanks to the help from our Boss, and colleagues at the office that it had come true. That too, with out any troubling issues. The colleagues at office including me attempted at test kernel recompilation at one of our active systems at office, since the test system set there was broken.

We downloaded the new kernel, did the compilation and it went through successfully though it took about 3 hours or so to get completed. Coming to the final part, we got struck with some issues while booting into the new kernel, it was nothing serious just some silly mistakes made when we entered the new kernel details into grub.conf so that the system gets booted automatically into the new kernel. We had a check of grub on other systems at the office and had it rectified. Needless to say, it worked like a charm, strengthen by the test results that we got, I did dare to have it done on an active server of our clients who had requested to upgrade the kernel.

Everything went fine as worked out in our test procedures, and I had recompiled kernel successfully on a live server. The time difference between local systems and web servers was well noticed, while it took more than 3 hours to get it completed in local system it got completed fully under 1.15 hours well short indeed.

Thank you boss & my dear colleagues along with our lovely client who had given me the opportunity to have this tested out.

Sunday OFF

December 5th, 2009 Posted in Blog

Everybody likes to get Sunday Off/ Leave. I hate gettin/taking Sunday as off, hell there is a lot more to do on Sundays than our normal working day, going to church for mass, lots of functions/marriages, I really hate it. If it was a working day, it would be very much fine compared with the amount of work at office, these little things that fall back on Sundays does look extra large in size and churns out most of the day time making us exhausted and tired more than that we come across in normal working days. I’m planning to take off some other day to get ride of these things, hopefully since the PM is class mate and close friend of mine I might get this done easily, and get rid of these!!!
